SUMMARY:CfP Minitrack “Decision Support for Healthcare Processes and Servic
 es” @HICSS2023
DESCRIPTION:Call for Papers - Minitrack Decision Support for Healthcare Pro
cesses and Services @HICSS2023\n\nHealthcare processes (e.g. patient pathwa
ys) and services are often very complex and can involve various parties wit
hin an organization or between organizations such as hospitals and other ca
regivers, as well as the patients. The design of services is often differen
t from traditional service design—as for many healthcare services patients
receive care, but insurance companies pay for it. Implementing processes in
this domain should result in providing faster, safer and more effective ca
re, necessitating organizing and sharing information among all participants
involved in patient care. While the need for well- defined healthcare proc
esses is clear, there are many obstacles and opportunities for research, in
cluding technical, behavioral, and organizational topics.\n\nThis minitrack
focuses on the analysis, design and optimization of healthcare systems, th
e use of IT to support and improve care processes as well as non-IT assets
such as process changes, innovative IT artefacts, and interoperability stan
dards.\n\nTopics of interest include, but are not limited to:\n\n Analysis
and optimization of healthcare processes and services (e.g. patient pathwa
ys, appointment planning, hospital logistics, emergency medical services)
Multi–criteria decision analysis of healthcare processes and services Mach
ine learning and artificial intelligence for healthcare processes and servi
ces (e.g. demand forecasts, medical decision making) Design of decision su
pport systems in healthcare Design and analysis of healthcare processes an
d services Simulation studies of healthcare processes and services (e.g. e
mergency departments, hospital logistics) Simulation–optimization approach
es for healthcare processes and services The use of medical devices to sup
port the processes and services Organizational change management for imple
menting new processes Impact of IT–enabled coordination of processes on pa
tient/population health outcomes (e.g. hospital readmissions, cost efficien
cy) \n\nSubmission:\n\nDeadline for submission is June 15, 2022.\n\nFurther
