Digital Health Paper Development Workshop (DH-PDW) @ WI 2026
Organized by: Fachgruppe Digital Health of the German Informatics Society (GI e.V.)
Beschreibung
Theme: Next-Level Digital Health Research
About the workshop
The “Digital Health Paper Development Workshop” (DH-PDW) takes place for the second time as a pre-conference activity at the Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI) 2026 in Linz.
The workshop provides a forum for researchers working on issues related to information technology in the context of healthcare. We welcome extended abstracts describing both research-in-progress and completed research on a broad range of topics and methodologies. We especially invite junior and mid-level researchers to submit their work and obtain early feedback.
The main purpose of the workshop is to help authors develop their work for submission to a major conference or a journal. Please note that the papers do not have to fit the theme, just relate to the theme of digital health and health information technology in general.
The workshop takes place in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Special Interest Group Digital Health of the German Informatics Society (Fachgruppe Digital Health, FG-DH). Authors do not have to be FG-DH members to participate.
Publication options
Contributions accepted to the workshop will not be included in conference proceedings. Authors retain the full copyrights to their work.
Fast-track option: Promising contributions will be invited for submission and fast-track handling at the Digital Business Management and Digital Leadership department of BISE Journal.
Layout of the workshop
The workshop is restricted to 6-8 author teams. All submitted work will be evaluated by the co-chairs and notified regarding acceptance at the workshop.
All accepted contributions will then be presented and discussed during roundtable discussions to provide authors with help, feedback, suggestions, and to facilitate future collaborations.
The interactive format of the workshop is geared towards providing a high degree of feedback to authors with promising early-stage work, but is certainly open to developed and completed research as well.
The workshop will be co-located with the annual meeting of the FG-DH. The final part of the session (12:00-13:00) will likely be in a hybrid format, involving members online.
Registration
The registration to the workshop is free.
Workshop participants need to register for the workshop through the WI 2026 website as a pre-conference activity.
At least one author needs to be present at the workshop. However, participation of multiple authors is greatly encouraged to better gather the feedback and participate in offering feedback to others.
Submission instructions
Although the workshop invites research in all stages, including early-stage, research-in-progress and completed research, all submissions should take the form of Extended Abstracts of no more than 2 pages.
Extended abstracts can be written in English or German. Only one paper per first author will be accepted.
