Dr Mirela Prgometis a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Systems and Safety Research, Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), Macquarie University. Her research focuses on evaluating the impact of digital health technologies on clinical workflows, communication, and patient safety, with a particular emphasis on improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Mirela is an international expert on the Work Observation Method By Activity Timing (WOMBAT) technique and tool. She has been instrumental in advancing the development of WOMBAT and its application across diverse healthcare settings, contributing to high-impact studies that examine how digital innovations and policy changes influence clinical practice.
Moderator
Prof. Dr. Heiko Gewald is co-spokesperson for the Digital Health Specialist Group of the German Informatics Society. He is a research professor for information management at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences and director of the Institute for Digital Innovation. His particular research interest lies in how the ageing generation uses digital innovations, especially in healthcare.
